Chamber Ambassador Program
AMBASSADORS ROLE
The Purpose of the Chamber Ambassador is to be a liaison between Chamber members and the Membership Services Committee. By attending events, promoting a positive image to members, potential members and to the community as a whole, the Ambassador serves a vital role in the success of the Chamber. It is the Ambassadors who assist members in seeing the value in membership which leads to renewal of membership and commitment to the mission of the Maple Valley/Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce.
AMBASSADOR BENEFITS/OPPORTUNITIES
- Professional networking opportunities.
- First point-of-contact to all members.
- Obtain an insider’s perspective to the Maple Valley-Black Diamond community.
- Make lasting business connections, gaining exposure of your name and company before the business community.
- Recognized on the Chamber website and in monthly newsletters.
REQUIREMENTS
The role of an Ambassador is voluntary; however there are a few requirements which must be met:
- An Ambassador must be a current member of the Maple Valley/Black Diamond Chamber for at least one year through an individual membership or as an employee of company belonging to the Chamber.
- Attend Ambassador and Membership Meetings, Ribbon Cuttings, After-hours Events, and other events whenever possible. Participation in events is necessary to fulfill your role as a Chamber Ambassador.
- Whenever attending a Chamber function, Ambassadors are required to wear their official Ambassador name badge.
- Welcome new members through a personal introduction and presentation of their Membership Plaque. The highest percentage of dropped members is in the first year of membership. Your role in welcoming new members is vital to the health of our organization and serves as a perfect opportunity to create a future business contact for yourself.
AMBASSADOR MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday, 4-5pm of each month unless otherwise noted. The meetings will be limited to 1 hour in respect of your time. Arrival should be in a timely fashion, being considerate of other volunteer’s time and schedules. Ambassadors are strongly encouraged to notify the Ambassador Chair when they will be absent. Agenda topics frequently include the distribution of new member plaques, member connector calls and planning for upcoming events.
