HONORING HOWARD BOTTS,
26 YEARS AS THE FORMER MAYOR OF BLACK DIAMOND
Looking back over 42 years as a Planning Commissioner, City Councilman, and Mayor.
Howard will share his unique perspective as Mayor for almost three decades and the many challenges in implementing the city's goal of keeping Black Diamond "Rural by Design". It has been a balancing act between Healthy Growth and Black Diamond’s Green Environment. As always, Howard’s remarks will reflect his true love for his home town.
UPDATE FROM COUNCILMEMBER REAGAN DUNN
King County Councilman Reagan Dunn represents the 9th District of King County, the 12th largest county in the United States. Reagan serves as the Republican Vice-Chair on the King County Council and also the chairman of the Republican Caucus. Since 2006, Reagan has served as the Chairman of the Regional Transit Committee and his committee assignments include the Growth Management and Natural Resources, Operating Budget, Regional Policy, Law and Justice and Human Services and King County Board of Health. Reagan also serves as a board member for the Washington Associations of Counties and Vice-Chair of the Urban Caucus. In addition, he is a member of the King County Ferry District Board and Flood Control Zone Board.
Tahoma High School’s 'We the People'
‘We the People’, the Citizen and the Constitution is a program authorized by Congress to teach young people about our system of government and to provide a competition component that tests high school students on their ability to know and understand the Constitution. Tahoma High School’s team won the state championship in January and is preparing to represent Washington state at national competition in Washington, D.C. in late April.
